Delete your account and data
You can delete your Maeva account at any time, without giving a reason.
Deleting from inside the app
- Open Maeva on your Android device.
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm when you are asked to.
That is the whole process. It takes effect immediately — there is no waiting period and no approval step.
Deleting by email
If you have uninstalled Maeva, cannot sign in, or cannot open the app for any other reason, you can ask us to delete your account instead.
Write to maeva.formoms@gmail.com from the email address you used to sign in to Maeva, and ask us to delete your account.
Sending the request from your sign-in address is how we confirm the account is yours. If you cannot, tell us in the message and we will find another way to verify it before deleting anything.

What is deleted straight away
The moment you delete your account:
- Your personal details
- Your name, email address, and phone number are removed from your account record.
- Your babies' details
- Your baby's name and date of birth, and any other children's details you entered, are deleted.
- Your sign-in
- The link between your Google account and Maeva is severed. You can no longer sign in to that account, and neither can anyone else.
What is retained, and for how long
Your conversations — deleted six months later
Your conversation content is not deleted at the same moment as your personal details. It is deleted six months later, by a scheduled purge.
By that point the conversations are no longer connected to your name, email address, or phone number, because those were removed when you deleted your account. We keep the conversation content for that period so that Maeva's safety and quality review — described in the privacy policy — remains possible, and then it is deleted.
Maeva's retention period is 6 months post inactivity.
A record that the deletion happened
We keep a record that an account was deleted and when, so that a deletion is not silently undone and so that the invitation list stays accurate.
[CONFIRM: the beta invitation record currently keeps the invitee's name and phone number after deletion, as the permanent record of the invitation. Confirm whether that is intended, and how you want it described here — this page must not say personal details are removed straight away while a separate record still holds a name and a phone number.]
If we are required to keep something by law
Where a law requires us to retain particular information for a defined period, we will keep only what that law requires, for only as long as it requires.
If you come back later
If you ever come back, you start fresh: a new account, with nothing carried over. Your previous conversations are not restored, and Maeva will not remember them. Deletion cannot be undone.
